Share privately or publish a recipe
Choose between an expiring private link and a publicly accessible recipe URL.
Private sharing and public publishing solve different problems.
Share privately
Use Share privately when the recipe should remain private in your library but a specific person needs temporary access.
- Open the recipe.
- Open Share privately.
- Choose when the link expires.
- Select Create private link.
- Use copy, email, or the device share action to send it.
Active links remain available in the sharing panel until they expire or you revoke them. Open Share privately, select Show link, and use the same copy, email, or device share actions again whenever you need them.
Links created by an older Viandly release still work, but Viandly cannot reconstruct their original URLs. The sharing panel identifies these links and offers Replace link. Replacing one immediately stops the old URL and creates a reusable link with the same expiration.
The recipient does not need a Viandly account. Anyone who possesses an active link can read and print that recipe, so revoke a link that was sent to the wrong person.
Publish
Use Publish when anyone with the ordinary recipe URL may read the recipe. Public recipes can also appear on the owner's public profile and may later become discoverable through public product features or search engines.
Publishing does not transfer ownership. Only the recipe owner can edit the recipe, manage its image, or change its visibility.
