Account And Services

Understand privacy and account data

See what Viandly stores, what can leave your account, and how to export or delete it.

Viandly recipes are private by default. Publishing, private sharing, AI processing, scanner intake, and account deletion are deliberate actions with different data boundaries.

Review the public policies

  • Read the Privacy Policy for the information Viandly processes, service providers, retention, sharing, and account controls.
  • Read the Terms of Service for account, content, acceptable-use, cooking-safety, and beta-service responsibilities.
  • Read the Copyright Policy before publishing or distributing content obtained from another source.
  • Open Open-source notices for separately distributed software licenses and source links.

The version and effective date appear at the top of each policy. You can also reach these documents from the Viandly home page, sign-in page, About Viandly, and the account menu.

Know what leaves your private library

Your recipe remains private until you choose another access mode:

  • Public makes the intended recipe fields and attribution readable without signing in.
  • Private share links allow anyone possessing an active link to read the shared recipe.
  • Cookbook edition links allow recipients to read or download that immutable edition.
  • AI features send the content required for that action to the provider account you configured.

Private notes, AI credentials, import diagnostics, and account-only settings are not included in a public recipe. A reference to another recipe does not reveal a private target to a reader who cannot independently access it.

Export or delete account data

Open Account Settings, then Data and recovery to:

  1. Create a schema-backed Viandly archive for portability.
  2. Import and preview a compatible archive.
  3. Review recoverable recipe deletion.
  4. Schedule account deletion with a 30-day recovery period.
  5. Request immediate permanent purge when you do not want the recovery period.

Protected disaster-recovery backups expire on an operational schedule. They are not ordinary account archives and are not used to restore an individually purged account.

Understand AI and scanner processing

Viandly encrypts the AI credential you configure and does not show it again after saving. When you invoke an AI workflow, the relevant text, images, audio, or cooking context goes to that provider under the provider's own privacy, retention, and billing terms.

Scanner deliveries can include sender and subject information, filenames, and attached page content. Temporary scanner files normally expire 14 days after receipt and can be removed sooner through their workflow.

Ask a question or report a concern

Do not put private recipe contents, credentials, private share links, or vulnerability details in the public feedback tracker.
