Recipe websites sometimes improve or expand their structured recipe metadata after you save a recipe. Website source review compares that current metadata with your saved recipe and lets you choose useful additions.

This is different from importing the recipe again. It does not replace your recipe body or create a duplicate recipe.

Check one recipe

1. Open a recipe you own.
2. Find Check original source near the bottom of the recipe page.
3. Select Check source.
4. Open the recipe's source-review row in Inbox when it finishes.

The option appears only when the recipe has a public HTTP or HTTPS source URL.

Check your library

1. Open Account Settings.
2. Open Data & Recovery.
3. Find Review website sources.
4. Select Review website sources.
5. Remain on this page to monitor or cancel the review, or leave it running in the background.

Viandly checks the recipes serially instead of contacting every source at once. A large library can therefore take several minutes. Actionable recipe results appear individually in Inbox as they are found. Recipes with no useful changes do not create Inbox items. A website that merely blocks or rejects Viandly is counted in the completed-run diagnostics rather than creating work you cannot resolve.

Review additions and conflicts

Each proposal shows your current value and the value published by the original source.

• Missing field means your recipe has no value. These additions are selected by default.
• Conflict means your recipe already has a different value. Conflicts are never selected by default.

For author, source, adapted-from, and attribution-note conflicts, choose Keep current, Replace with source, or Append source. Appending preserves both values and avoids repeating text that is already present.

Select Apply selected for one recipe. Viandly does not provide a batch-wide apply because an empty field is safe to fill technically but may still contain undesirable website metadata.

Proposed tag additions are editable. Remove site-specific labels, rename suggestions, add a useful tag, or clear the list before applying. Existing tags on the recipe remain unchanged.

Understand blocked results

A source can be blocked when:

• the site presents a human check or denies server access;
• the page no longer contains structured Recipe metadata;
• the page is unavailable;
• the source title appears unrelated to your saved recipe.

Blocked results are informational and appear in the completed-run summary rather than the Inbox. Viandly does not attempt to bypass access controls, and it does not send source reviews to your AI provider. A source-title mismatch remains an Inbox result because it may indicate that the recipe's saved source URL needs correction.

Dismiss or cancel work

• Dismiss removes a proposal without changing the recipe.
• Dismiss remaining proposals closes all unresolved proposals in the batch.
• Cancel remaining checks stops a batch that is still running.
• Moving a result to Trash removes that recipe result from the active Inbox without deleting the recipe.
