Importing Recipes
Import a PDF or document
Upload one or more recipe files and review extracted text before draft creation.
Viandly accepts PDF, Word, OpenDocument, Markdown, and plain-text recipe files through Documents.
Add documents
- Open Import and select Documents.
- Choose up to five recipe files.
- Review the file queue and select Import queued documents.
- Open each item from Inbox when extraction or AI structuring finishes.
- Review the retained source and structured draft before saving.
Selecting multiple files creates independent work items. Remove an unwanted file from the queue, or retry an individual failed upload without losing the others. Viandly accepts submitted files into a bounded account backlog. Enqueued files wait while earlier work is processed; In progress is reserved for work currently executing.
PDF quality
A PDF containing selectable text usually produces the cleanest result. A PDF made only from page images may require OCR. If Viandly reports that it cannot read text from the PDF, import the pages as photos or select and paste text from another PDF viewer.
