Account And Services

Share a recipe library

Invite trusted people to maintain recipes and cookbooks together while keeping separate accounts.

Each person keeps their own Viandly account. Sharing a recipe library gives a trusted person access to its recipes, images, collections, and cookbooks without sharing passwords or AI credentials.

Invite someone

Open Account Settings > Recipe libraries and enter their email address. The link expires after seven days. They must sign in or create an account and verify that same email before accepting. A library holds up to five people, including its owner. The owner needs paid or closed-beta sharing access; an invited member may use a free account.

Members can add, edit, publish, share, and delete library recipes, and work on its cookbooks. Invite only someone you trust with those changes. The owner manages members, billing, and transfer. Remove a member in Recipe libraries to stop future access; a member can also leave.

If the owner's paid or beta sharing access ends, sharing pauses immediately. Beta sharing does not override a read-only downgrade period. Members can still see the library listed in Recipe libraries, marked as paused, but cannot open its recipes or books until the owner restores access. Nobody needs a new invitation when access resumes. Pending invitations remain valid only until their original expiry date. The owner's 30-day downgrade grace protects retained data; it does not extend access for members.

Find and save recipes

Recipes searches every library you can access. Choose one library in the filter when you want to narrow the results. When creating or saving a reviewed import, choose its destination library. Your import inbox and draft remain personal until you save the recipe. Collections and cookbooks belong to a library; personal favorites and private notes remain yours.

Shopping lists, stores, staples, AI provider settings, AI usage, billing, and scanner deliveries remain separate for each person. You may add a shared recipe to your own shopping list.

Transfer ownership

The owner can transfer a library to another member who has paid access. The library's recipes, collections, and cookbooks move to that member; billing does not. Transfer is required before closing an account that still owns a library with other members. Wait for any active uploads or cookbook rendering to finish first.
